Maine West runs past Maine East

The Maine East marching band treated its home fans to a tribute of Michael Jackson's greatest hits Friday, capped off with a nearly spot-on rendition of the late-singer's greatest hit, "Thriller."
Up until that point, though, it was the most thrilling thing the Demons' fans got to witness. Maine East could do nothing to stop Maine West's ground game in the first half as the Warriors ran for three touchdowns and went on to win 26-12.
"They were basically just running through the tackles and what would happen is our guys wouldn't get low enough and they'd let themselves get blocked," said Maine East linebacker Charlie Kappos, who finished with eight tackles and a sack. "Then (Maine West's players) would just run through the holes that would open up."
Calvin Williams led the Maine West (2-5, 1-2) ground game with 98 yards on 17 carries and two touchdowns. Ziggy Krycka and BJ Lambert also ran for TDs.
Maine East (1-6, 0-3) was led on offense by Xavier Levy, who finished with six receptions for 161 yards and two touchdowns.
Levy's first score, a 68-yard touchdown off a third-quarter screen pass, was the Demons' first points in their last four games.
