Niles North tops Maine West

Niles North's Terry Turner was too much for Maine West to handle Friday as the Vikings defeated the Warriors 48-20.

Turner rushed for 300 yards on 25 carries and scored touchdowns on runs of 50, 58, 78 and 15 yards. He also returned a kickoff 75 yards for a touchdown.

Maine West actually led 20-17 with five seconds left in the first half, before Niles North tied the game on a 41-yard field goal by Kosta Minchev.

The second half was all Niles North. Turner returned the second- half kickoff 76 yards for a touchdown, but it was called back due to blocking-in-the-back penalty. Starting the Vikings 29-yard line, Turner rushed for 13 yards to the 42 and followed that with a 58-yard run for a touchdown.
