Evan Booth’s name was missing from Lyons’ pre-game roster, but Stevenson knows his number now.

Booth intercepted Stevenson quarterback Matt Micucci twice in the first half, and the Patriots committed six turnovers as Lyons pulled off a 24-19 victory Friday night in the season opener in Western Springs.

Stevenson’s last turnover was the most costly. The Patriots drove to the Lyons 33, but Connor Wasz intercepted Micucci’s fourth pass of the game at his own 9-yard line with 1:44 remaining in the game.

The Patriots (0-1) trailed by 17 points in the third quarter after Will Konstant scored his second touchdown of the game, each time on a one-yard run.

“We put a lot of pressure on their defense. They made great plays, but it was rough,” Micucci said. “We fought back, but it was hard. We had a chance at the end.”

Booth picked up his first interception just three plays into the game when Micucci’s pass attempt across the middle was tipped into Booth’s chest.

Lyons (1-0) scored five plays later on a 35-yard drive, capped by Will Konstant’s five-yard keeper into the end zone. Konstant subbed for starting quarterback Connor Onion each time in a goal-line offense. The 6-1, 195-pound Konstant gave Lyons a size advantage on run plays, compared to the 5-11, 170-pound Onion.

Booth’s second interception came with 38.4 seconds before halftime.
