Tim Williams threw for a career-high five touchdowns as Homewood-Flossmoor got the winning feeling back with a 35-0 pasting of Lockport in a SouthWest Suburban Blue matchup before a big Homecoming crowd Friday night in Lockport.
“It was a really important win after two losses,” Williams said. “I didn’t know if we’d come out with enthusiasm, but we did and it’s a big win.”
Williams was 15-of-19 for 166 yards. He set the tone on the opening drive, as the Vikings went 80 yards in 17 plays. Williams capped it with a 16-yard touchdown pass to Kristopher Porche and H-F (4-2, 2-2) never looked back against Lockport (4-2, 2-2).
“The line just did a great job,” Williams said. “I felt good and got time back there. Plus Anfernee Roberts (18 carries for 121 yards) ran the ball well and the defense was outstanding.”
Touchdown receptions of 18 yards by Willie Ross and 33 yards by Sean Jones gave the Vikings a 21-0 halftime lead.
Sean Jones (4 receptions for 68 yards) added a 20-yard yard touchdown catch and Sheldon Jones completed the scoring by leaping in the end zone for the final yard on his 15-yard touchdown.
Lockport was limited to one first down. Jaylen Dunlap and Thad Little had interceptions for H-F.
