Fenger (1-0) vs. Lindblom (0-1)

3:30 p.m. at Stagg Stadium, 74th and Morgan

Storyline: Remember the Titans is Fenger's new battle cry. These Titans are looking to exceed their 2006 victory total of a single win. The favorite in the Chicago Great Lakes section, Fenger opened the season with an impressive 39-8 over Washington. The Titans are big, quick and athletic, and they feature one of the Public League's unsung stars in senior QB Andre Locke. Sophomore running back Tyjuan Ford is a player to watch. He ran for 68 yards on just six carries against Washington. Locke passed for just 85 yards last week, but he made each one count in the opening victory, passing for two touchdowns. On defense, Fenger has one of the Public League's unknown stars, 6-3, 225 disruptive, powerful defensive end Darius Leonard.

A member of the Intra-City South, the Eagles are going through a transition similar to other Public League schools making the change to a magnet program. Coach John Williams is trying to rebuild a program. The Eagles lost 40-0 in the opener to Harper, and are eager to make strides.

Spotlight player: Fenger senior running back Dwayne Creamer (5-11, 220) has that vital balance of size and speed. He also starts at middle linebacker for the Titans, indicative of his strength and power. In the team's season opening victory, Creamer rushed for 159 yards on 11 carries, scoring on touchdown jaunts of 60 and five yards.

Fenger assistant coach Bradley Roosevelt on the game: "We saw how Lindblom fared against Harper, and we believe we're a better team than Harper. Ideally, we'd like to jump out on them in the first quarter, and then have the advantage of playing a lot of our younger players in the second half. We know they are a new program, and we don't want to do anything that would make them lose their confidence."
