The rundown: Lincoln-Way East, ranked as one of the area’s top teams, spanked Edwardsville 37-14 in last year’s opener and went on to finish 9-2, exiting in Round 2 of the playoffs. The Griffins return the potent passing attack of QB Blake Winkler and WR Jason Robertson. Winkler threw for 1,773 yards and 20 TDs, and Robertson caught 25 passes for 567 yards.
