Brooke Wolfe of Prospect was the leader, but her school couldn’t hold off the pack of New Trier runners at Saturday’s Libertyville Invitational girls cross country meet at Adler Park.

Wolfe ran the three-mile course in 17:46 to capture individual honors.

However, New Trier’s Ackerman sisters --Courtney (17:52.6) and Jessica (17:52.9) – and Mimi Smith 17:53) finished 2-3-4 and gave the Trevians the team title.

New Trier totaled 34 points (2-3-4-12-13), safely ahead of Lockport (53), Prospect (59) and Libertyville (69). Niles North, Northside Prep, Resucrrecton, Willows Academy and Deerfield also competed.

Megan O’Brien and Stpehanie Sanders of Lockport finished 4-5, followed by Kristi Del Prate of Libertyville. The home team actually had its own pack, finished 14-15-16-17 with Nicole Jaffke, Lexie Zafiratos, Emily Moros and Maggie Fiorito finishing a total of five seconds apart.
