Nathan Boothe hit 11 of 16 shots from the field and scored 24 points to lead host Warren to a dominating 72-53 victory over Libertyville on Friday in a North Suburban Conference Lake Division game.

As a team, Warren (11-2 overall, 4-1 in the division), hit 30 of 49 shots (62 percent) from the field in its first game since Dec. 30.

“I was very happy with the way we played coming off a two-week break,” said Devils coach Chuck Ramsey. “It was a good performance and something we can build on.

“We made some really good hustle plays tonight ... got to loose balls that led to easy baskets.”

Boothe, a 6-8 giant in the paint, also had 10 boards.

“My teammates got me the ball through their zone and I was able to make my shots tonight,” he said. “Everybody shot very well today.”

Darius Paul had 14 points and 14 rebounds, JoVaughn Gaines had 12 points, and Mitch Munda scored 11 for the winners.

Libertyville (2-3 in the division and 10-5 overall) got 18 points from Ellis Matthews and 17 from Griffin Pils.

“I’m proud of the execution and the pace of the game,” said Libertyville coach Scott Bogumil. “Warren was just too tall and too good to run with.

“Warren’s ‘bigs’ (Paul and Boothe) have gotten so much better than last season.”
