Leyden shuts out Willowbrook

Leyden took advantage of a couple of Willowbrook turnovers early Friday

to take an quick lead and coast to a 31-0 road victory in the West Suburban

Gold.

The Eagles (3-3, 2-2) got into scoring position in the first few minutes

of the game when Andras Orrego found himself on the receiving end of a

fumble by Willowbrook running back Dan McLean and returned it 38 yards to

the Warriors' 7-yard line.

Leyden quarterback Joey DiFronzo (8-for-12, 124 yards passing) got into

the end zone from a yard out on fourth down to give the Eagles a 7-0 lead

with 7 minutes 51 seconds left in the first quarter.

Linebacker Nelson Lugo of the Eagles fell on a fumbled snap by

Willowbrook (1-5, 1-3) in the final minute of the opening period, giving

Leyden the ball at the Warriors' 41.

DiFronzo hooked up with Orrego (96 yards on 5 receptions) for a

completion to the 1-yard line and then scored again on a quarterback sneak

for a 14-0 lead with :11 to go in the first quarter.

Leyden drove 34 yards on its next possession, setting up DiFronzo's third

touchdown of the game on a quarterback sneak for a 21-0 lead with 9:40 left

in the first half.

The Eagles made it 24-0 on a 42-yard field goal by Krystian Chudoba with

4:07 to go in the third quarter. Tailback Justin Bolo (110 yards on 25

carries) scored a TD from 28 yards out with 5:59 remaining in the game to

finish the scoring.
