Lake Zurich tops Maine West

Lake Zurich 1, Maine West 0: Kim Lacke scored the game-winning run for Lake Zurich's softball team Tuesday on a Brianna Welbourn bunt and a Maine West error, as the Bears edged the Eagles 1-0 in eight innings in the Barrington Spring Fling.

Lacke (1-for-2) reached base on a single and advanced to second on Ashley Wright's sacrifice bunt to set up the scoring play.

Katie Buczynski allowed only one hit and struck out 14 to get the win for Lake Zurich.

Emily Ott had 12 strikeouts for Maine West (0-1).
