Lake Zurich shuts out Warren

Every time the host Blue Devils made a push, J.J. Raffelson was

there to push them back.

Lake Zurich's senior linebacker sealed a 14-0 victory when he sacked Warren

quarterback Bob Boesch (4-of-8, 46 yards, INT) and forced a fumble with the

Devils driving in the fourth quarter.

"He didn't see me coming and I chased him down," said Raffelson, who

finished with five sacks in the NSC Lake showdown. "I went straight for the

ball."

From there, the No. 12 Bears (6-1, 3-1) marched 70 yards on nine plays to put the

game away on a Zach Till (7-of-10, 45 yards; 9 carries, 23 yards, TD) QB

sneak with 3:39 remaining.

Lake Zurich had taken an early lead on a 27-yard run by Jacob Brinlee (12

carries, 105 yards, TD) in the opening drive of the contest.

Mike Shield finished with 81 yards on 16 carries for the Bears. The Lake

Zurich defense held on for its third shutout of the season.

Nolan Sordyl ran for 82 yards on 13 carries to lead the Devils (4-3, 2-2).
