A pair of Amandas (Wright, Beck) from Lake Zurich High School earned all-NSC honors at Monday's NSC girls golf meet in Lake Forest. Wright, a senior, shot a 10th-place 96 and classmate Beck carded an 18th-place 102, as the Bears (411) took fifth place.
Stevenson captured the team championship at rainy Deerpath Golf Club with a 344.
"The kids got soaked," LZ coach Mel Fox said. "No breaks in the round, no lightning, nobody complained.
"(Wright's) score," she added, "was decent, considering the conditions."
Scores from Alexa Haider (105) and Mackenzie Lestan (108) also counted for LZ on Monday.
Kaitlin Garske of Stevenson claimed medalist honors with a 79. The top five was filled out by Lakes' Abbie Horan (80), Lake Forest's Cally McGowan (82), Stevenson's Angelina Kim (84) and Vernon Hills' Kirsten Groody (85).
The Bears' JV squad finished runner-up behind Stevenson on Monday, with five of LZ's competitors collecting all-NSC medals: Jamie Elmore (5th place, 111), Sarah Paul (8th, 113), Lisa Kowieski (11th, 116), Kelly McGuire (12th, 116), and Stephanie Kappel (17th, 123).
LZ vies for Class AA sectional berths Wednesday at Countryside GC in Mundelein.
"Our goals is to get out of the regional as a team," Fox said.
A-ONE AMANDA: Wright carded a career-best 38 (3-over) at Countryside in LZ's 187-190 defeat of Libertyville on Sept. 24.
BOYS GOLF: LZ's Mark Hart and Mike Nutter shot 43s in a 156-174 loss to Mundelein at Countryside on Sept. 23.
LZ and Wauconda were to compete in Wednesday's NSC Meet.
