The Pioneer Press Northwest Group covers 21 football teams, including all of the MSL.

1. Barrington (4-0)

Ho-hum. But Broncos must stay sharp as the MSL West schedule starts this week. They travel to Hoffman Estates.

2. Cary-Grove (4-0)

Meaty part of the schedule up ahead for the Trojans, whose 35-14 win over Johnsburg was the third win against a team without a winning record. But first they go on road to play 1-3 Jacobs in FVC Valley opener.

3. Fremd (3-1)

Quality come-from-behind victory over Rolling Meadows on the road. Vikings head into division against Schaumburg on three-game winning streak.

4. Huntley (4-0)

Just playing Friday probably felt like a win for Raiders, whose season was threatened by a strike. After a 36-0 pasting of Jacobs, Raiders get winless Grayslake North in division opener.

5. Stevenson (2-2)

Finally getting the results. A 24-17 win over Lake Zurich suggests Pats are back. Visits 0-4 Zion-Benton this week.

6. Lake Zurich (2-2)

Rugged road damaging Bears. Doesn't get smoother with 3-1 Warren up next.

7. Palatine (3-1)

Offense puts up season-high 56 for third win in a row. Starts West play at Conant.

Three more: Crystal Lake South (3-1), Rolling Meadows (2-2), Schaumburg (3-1)
