Curie has gotten to the point where they look unspectacular and still beat you by over 20 points. Visiting King found that out Wednesday as No. 23 Curie handed the Jaguars a 90-68 loss in the Red-Central that could have been worse if coach Mike Oliver didn't pull his starters early in the fourth quarter.

It was a relatively close game in the first half with the Condors (17-1, 5-0) holding only a 39-29 lead at halftime. But the third quarter told the story as Curie stormed out to a 14-2 run at the beginning and opened up a 53-31 lead with 4:53 remaining in the third quarter.

The Jaguars (8-7, 3-2) could pull no closer than 19 points for the remainder of the game.

Greg Travis led four Curie players in double figures with 16 points, eight assists, six rebounds and five steals. Devin Foster and Reece Fleming Jr. scored 12 points each and Paris Burns added 10 points.

Darnell Fishback was the bright spot for King as he scored a game-high 31 points and Reginald Ruffin finished with 19 points.

Oliver said game like this give him an opportunity to test his reserves under game conditions.

"Everybody wants to play, but the key is to be ready when your number is called. This game gave us an opportunity to see who was ready."

Oliver also praised Travis for his leadership. "Greg is just steady. What he's learned to do is to bring the same intensity no matter what team we are playing or who he's going up against. You are always going to get the best he has."
