Kenwood sweeps championships

Kenwood scored a sweep in the Public League indoor track championships on Monday, as the Broncos beat Morgan Park 52-45 for the boys title and outdistanced Harper 90-46 for the girls title.

Maris Smith picked up a pair of firsts for Kenwood's boys, going 41-1 1/2 in the triple jump and running a 2:05.27 in the 800.

On the girls side, Kenwood's Kawanna Brooks showed her versatility by winning three events: the triple jump (36-6 3/4), the shot put (30-8) and the 200 (26.41). Teammate Imari Mason doubled in the long jump (17-1 1/2) and the 55 hurdles (8.85).
