Immaculate Conception senior Conor Hendricks certainly made his

presence felt in his first game of the season.

Hendricks rushed for 155 yards on 11 carries and scored two touchdowns to

lead the Knights to a 42-14 homecoming victory over Aurora Central Catholic

Friday in Elmhurst.

Hendricks, who missed the first five games of the season for what IC coach

Mike Alberts called "nagging injuries," also returned a kickoff 85 yards for

a touchdown.

"It was really nice to come back," Hendricks said. "It was all worth it. My

guys cleared the way and all I had to do was walk through."

IC (4-2, 2-1 in Suburban Christian Conference Gold Division) led 7-0 after

one quarter on a 19-yard TD run by Hendricks. The TD was set up by a 74-yard

run from Jose Godinez.

Aurora Central (2-4, 1-2 in SCC Gold Division) pulled even at 7-7 on a

1-yard TD run by Kyle Clechenko, but the Knights took the lead for good when

Hendricks returned his kickoff with 9 minutes, 15 seconds left in the second

quarter to make the score 14-7.

Godinez (179 rushing yards, 13 carries) made it 20-7 just 23 seconds into

the second half on a 64-yard TD run and Hendricks added a 34-yard touchdown

run to give the Knights a 28-7 lead after three quarters.

Steven Amoni pulled Aurora Central within 28-14 early in the fourth quarter

with a 9-yard TD run, but IC quarterback Cody Kotlow scored on an 8-yard run

and backup quarterback Dan Vatch (3 carries, 65 yards) closed the game's

scoring with a 40-yard burst.
