Hubbard 27, Oak Lawn 9: Hubbard overcame more than 120 penalty yards to turn back visiting Oak Lawn at Gately Stadium.
The Spartans led 9-6 late in the second quarter before the Greyhounds scored 21 unanswered points.
Ronnie Oliver (11 carries, 187 yards) scored on runs of 62 and 60 yards, and Will Taylor (10 carries, 123 yards) scored on runs of 55 and four yards for Hubbard (9-1). The Greyhounds finished with 435 rushing yards.
Oak Lawn (6-4) scored on a 35-yard touchdown reception from Cody Williams to Raed Cardi. The Spartans also had a safety.
‘‘There was no reason for our heads not to be in the game and to have the lack of focus we showed today,’’ Hubbard coach Elton Harris said of his team’s penalties. ‘‘We were our own worst enemy.’’
