After visiting the campus, adding up all the pluses and comparing one school against another, Homewood-Flossmoor's Supo Sanni decided it was time to make a decision. On Sunday, the 6-4, 200-pound wide receiver/free safety made an oral commitment to Illinois.
Sanni, who said he was recruited as a wide receiver but likely will play free safety in college, chose Illinois over Iowa and West Virginia, where his sister Olayinka is a senior. He also had been offered by Michigan State, Louisville, Iowa State and Western Michigan.
I felt I could play for Illinois, Sanni said. It's close to home, my parents love the school, it is a great environment and it's an up-and-coming program. It's moving in the right direction. They're recruiting a lot of good players.
