Top-rated Homewood-Flossmoor won the Providence Invitational girls golf title at Green Garden Golf Course in Frankfort Saturday with a 317.

Runner-up St. Charles East had a 332.

The Vikings were led by Ashley Armstrong (77), Lauren Dawson (78), Ryan Gilley (80) and Michelle Mayer (82). Prospect's Melanie Walsh was medalist with a four-over-par 76.

"We struggled across the board today," Homewood-Flossmoor coach Rick Pavinato said. "We had to work hard; we just couldn't get a streak going. We're deep enough to avoid a bad team score."
