Hornets among first to open practice

New Hinsdale South football coach Michael Barry was the last member of the coaching staff to take the field around 9 a.m. Wednesday for the first day of preseason practice allowed by the IHSA.

Barry joins the Hornets after coaching at Evergreen Park and his bringing a no-huddle spread offense with him. Players began arriving at the school around 8:30 a.m. and attended a team meeting before heading out to the practice field.

Hinsdale South opens the season at Romeoville at 7 p.m. Aug. 26.
