Orr needed a victory in the worse way to get back on track after back-to-back losses. They got a temporary reprieve against Harlan with a 48-36 victory at the Board of Education Holiday Basketball showcase Tuesday.
The Falcons didn't make it easy as Orr (4-3) only managed a 31-30 lead after three quarters. But a 15-4 run starting at the opening of the fourth quarter put things away for the Spartans.
Mycheal Henry scored seven of his team-high 12 points during the run and Malik Logan scored six points during the run. Logan finished with 11 points.
Shaquille Hines led the Falcons with 12 points.
"We showed some signs of improvement today," said Louis Adams. "We have a long way to go, but this effort let's me know they are listening."
Farragut 57, Robeson 45: Farragut (7-1) showed the type of poise that coach William Nelson has been looking for in the early season as they defeated Robeson at the Board of Education Holiday Basketball showcase.
The Admirals punished Robeson consistently getting the ball inside to 6-7 junior center Rashaun Stimage, who had a game-high 19 points to go along with 10 rebounds.
DJ Toliver scored 13 points, eight rebounds, seven assists and six steals and Alphonse Matthews had 11 points.
"This is what I've been looking for," said Nelson. "We showed a lot of patience, we moved the ball, and took good shots against their zone."
Kenyatta Bonds led the Raiders (3-3) with 16 points, Maurice Daniels added 30 points.
Farragut held a big rebounding edge as they out rebounded Robeson 32-18.
"When we go to the boards and play the type of defense we played today, then we become a team that can play with anybody," said Nelson.
