HOBART -- Two times on its final possession, Morton converted fourth downs.

But Hobart came up with a fourth-down stop when it needed the most.

The Brickies preserved a rollicking 32-27 victory over the Governors, whose final drive didn't end until they came up four yards short on a fourth-and-10 from the 22 with 10 seconds left in the game.

Ricky Oglesby's 93-yard touchdown run with 6:08 left in the game proved to be the difference after Nick Bogucki's punt had pinned the Brickies at their 7-yard line. Oglesby, who had 149 yards and three touchdowns on 16 carries, burst through a terrifically blocked hole and raced the distance untouched.

After a mishandled snap, Roger Cardwell ran in the two-point conversion to give Hobart (7-1) the five-point edge.

The Governors (4-4) then picked up a fourth-and-2 from their 28 with 4:44 left in the game when Roosevelt Jones gained three yards, and the fourth-and-14 from the Hobart 37 with less than three minutes when senior quarterback Cory Phillips hit Quintrell Cole for 15 yards.

In a game highlighted by several brilliant individual performances, maybe even more so by the Governors, Brickies quarterback Mat Barras added 96 yards and a touchdown run on eight carries.

Morton wide receiver Orlando Lucas was sensational with seven catches for 155 yards and two touchdowns. Phillips ran for 89 yards and two TDs -- he also had a 66-yarder called back due to a holding penalty -- on 13 carries, and completed five-of-seven passes for 142 yards.

Allen Polkinghorn completed 7-of-14 passes for 130 yards and two scores.

"It was one of those weird games," Hobart coach Wally McCormack said. "As good as their offense is, you have to keep them off the field. We ran the ball a little bit more. With the playmakers they have, their difficult to defend."

Morton coach Roydon Richards left the Brickie Bowl encouraged by his team's ongoing improved play.

"We've been playing this way," he said. "We're a darn good team. I told the guys it's going to take one heck of a team to beat us. I'm not convinced there's a better team out there. If you perform and get some break and beat us, congratulations. No disrespect, that's just how we feel right now."

Morton had recaptured a 27-24 lead on Phillips' 45-yard touchdown run on the first play of the fourth quarter.

Hobart had grabbed a 21-20 lead with 9:22 left in the third quarter on Oglesby's two-yard run and Mike Josifovski's extra point. Cardwell had given the Brickies excellent field position, returning the second-half opening kickoff 56 yards to the Morton 24. They also converted a fourth-and-6 from the 20, with Barras hitting Joey Aleman for 14 yards.

Josifovski's 35-yard field goal with 50 seconds in the third extended the Brickies' lead to 24-20. Lucas' second TD of the game, an 80-yard reception, gave the Governors a 14-y lead with 5:52 in the first half, catching Polkinghorn's short pass and streaking the rest of the way.

They made it 20-7 -- the conversion failed -- on Phillips' 14-yard TD run with 42 seconds in the half. It took them just 1:17 to move 80 yards, sparked by Phillips' 46-yard pass to Cole.
