Grayslake Central's dangerous running game took a back seat to

its emerging aerial attack on Friday night.

Junior QB Ray Beckman went 9-for-11 for 220 yards and two touchdowns to lead

the Rams to the inaugural cross-town classic trophy with a 34-7 win at rival

Grayslake North in a FVC Fox clash.

Both teams moved to 4-4 and stand one victory away from playoff eligibility

heading into the final weekend of the season.

Vinnie Culhane (5 catches, 118 yards, TD; 10 carries, 48 yards) and Mike

Sledz (2 catches, 68 yards, TD) caught touchdown passes from Beckman. Jahard

Nelson led the Central ground game with 78 yards and two scores on 11

carries.

North QB A.J. Fish (10-for-27, 101 yards, TD) hit senior tight end Hector

Silva (2 catches, 24 yards, TD) from 13-yards out in the second half to

account for the Knights' lone touchdown.
