Niles West scored first, but then it was all Glenbrook North in a 43-14 nonconference victory Friday night in Northbrook.

The Spartans scored all of their points after David Galimore ended the game's first possession on a four-yard touchdown run with 5:14 remaining in the first quarter.

Glenbrook North senior quarterback Zack Hilgendorf rushed for two touchdowns and threw for another in a bounce-back game for the Spartans (3-1), which lost 33-14 in Week 4 at New Trier.

"No one wants to lose a game, but that loss to New Trier was a good wakeup call," Hilgendorf said.

Sophomore Grant Rushing rushed for a career-high 150 yards on 18 carries and scored GBN's third touchdown on a 41-yard run late in the second quarter. Nick Freund (nine carries, 72 yards) scored on TD runs of 13 and 23 yards. Hilgendorf tied the game on GBN's first possession with his 12-yard scramble into the end zone.

The Spartans scored 19 points in the third quarter. Hilgendorf (3 of 6 passing, 58 yards) figured in two of the three TDs with an 18-yard scoring pass to Trevor Ponticelli and then a one-yard run with 1:42 remaining in the quarter.

"It's a great feeling going 3-1," Hilgendorf said. "Now we have all of the momentum going into conference."

Galimore, who rushed for 131 yards and two TDs in a Week 4 win over Maine East, was limited to 78 yards on 18 carries against Glenbrook North. The Wolves (1-3) had only four first downs in the second half. Galimore rushed for only 17 yards in the first half. Quarterback Seve Loubriel ended the scoring late in the fourth quarter on a 50-yard TD pass to David McCoy.

"I think the guys are getting frustrated," Loubriel said. "We have to start taking care of the ball. There is blame on myself. We are not efficient on the offensive side of the ball."
