Rushing, Freund lead Glenbrook North

Grant Rushing and Nick Freund were a dominant one-two force for Glenbrook North as the two running backs combined for six touchdowns in a 48-0 demolition of Maine East on Friday.
Rushing finished with a game-high 149 yards and three touchdowns on 15 carries while Freund added 53 yards and three scores on six carries in the rout.
"It's very dynamic," Freund said of the tandem. "We can run inside, we can run outside, we can go to either one of us, we can both block, we can both run. You don't know where the ball is going to go."
The Spartans (7-1, 4-0) put the game out of reach early, scoring on four of their five possessions in the first half. Freund scored on runs of two and four yards, while Rushing ran for three- and nine-yard touchdowns.
The one Glenbrook North possession that fell short was quickly made up for by Spartans' safety Sean Kamin, who intercepted Maine East quarterback George Zakaria on the Blue Demons' first play and returned it 63 yards for a touchdown.
Kamin also had an interception on the previous possession.
Freund and Rushing added touchdown runs of nine and 30 yards, respectively, early in the third quarter.
The Blue Demons (1-7, 0-4) were held scoreless for the fourth time in their last five games.
