The local class of 2012 is headlined by Glenbard West defensive lineman Tommy Schutt, who has committed to Ohio State. Schutt and a couple dozen other players will sign on Wednesday, the National Letter of Intent day. Here’s a look at the area’s top players that remain uncommitted:

Anthony Standifer, Crete-Monee

Position: Tight end.

Height: 6-1. Weight: 178.

Rivals rank: 3 stars, No. 45 TE.

Situation: Decomitted from Michigan, leaning towards Notre Dame. Other possibilities include Illinois, Boise State and Pittsburgh.

Robert Gregory, Simeon

Position: Quarterback.

Height: 6-3. Weight: 181.

Rivals rank: 3 stars, No. 14 QB.

Situation: Decomitted from Arkansas. Final four is now Arkansas, Kansas, Purdue and Minnesota.

Shaquille Joyner, Simeon

Position: Inside
linebacker.

Height: 5-11. Weight: 236.

Rivals rank: 3 stars,
unranked LB.

Situation: Offers from Eastern Michigan, Western Michigan and Illinois State.

Jordan Diamond, Simeon

Position: Offensive tackle.

Height: 6-9. Weight: 289.

Rivals rank: 4 stars,
No. 28 OT.

Situation: Dozens of offers, will decide between Arkansas, Auburn, Michigan, Ohio State and Wisconsin.
