Top-ranked Montini qualified 13 for the Class 2A state tournament, led by sectional champs Kevon Powell (31-10 at 103), Eric Powell (16-5 at 119), Stephen Robertson (44-5 at 125), Colton Rasche (43-3 at 130), Isaiah Gonzalez (43-6 at 160), Carl Foreside (47-3 at 189) and Grant Goebel (45-4 at 215).
The Broncos also advanced runners-up Christ DiVito (23-11 at 112), Elliot Hudson (18-10 at 145) and heavyweight Ross Ferraro (36-12), along with third-place finishers Frank Baer (31-6 at 140), Dimitri Willis (26-11 at 152) and Alex Saunders (34-12 at 171).
Crystal Lake Central advanced nine, including winners Trevor Jauch (40-2 at 112), Joey Kielbasa (38-1 at 140) and Trevor Parlberg (37-4 at 171).
Other area winners were Glenbard South heavyweight Austin Teitsma (35-0), Lakes' Matt Holmes (40-4 at 135), Fenton's Josh Castellano (32-1 at 145) and Wauconda's Scott Carlson (39-3 at 152).
