Glenbard East, DuPage Valley
Outlook: Glenbard East coach Dennis Lueck said his team will be returning to the Wing-T offense. “Our running game is strong,” he said. “Hopefully, we can control the ball and the clock and they will keep some of the other offenses – which in our conference are really good -- off the field.”
Players to watch:
QB Jack Merrithey, 5-8, 150, jr.
WR Lee Skinner, 6-5, 200, jr.
LB Paris Riley, 6-1, 210, sr.
CB Clinton Omsberg, 5-11, 175, sr.
OL Spencer George, 6-0, 285, jr.
LB Dan Ropinski, 6-0, 190, sr.
Juniors? Merrithey and George both started as sophomores. Skinner’s role will also grow this season, Lueck said. “They’re the most skilled players on our team especially with Jack throwing to Skinner,” he said. “We think we have a nice combo in them.”
Quote: “The conference is as good as it’s ever been. It really hard to pick a favorite.” – Dennis Lueck
