BIG NORTHERN EAST

Outlook: Richmond-Burton went unbeaten in league play each of the past two years, but some key losses on both sides of the ball will make a third straight title tough for the Rockets as they try to fend off several teams knocking at the door.

Top five players Ht. Wt. Yr.

RB/LB Jack Dechow, Rich.-Bur. 6-0 190 Sr.

G/DT John Flood, Rich.-Bur. 6-2 215 Sr.

QB Trae Hoeske, Marengo 6-3 210 Sr.

WR/FS Collin Nolen, Harvard 5-11 170 Sr.

OL/DL Luke Schumacher, G-K 5-10 200 Sr.

Quote: “G-K coming to the East Division will change the dynamic of the league. Harvard, Central, North Boone and Marengo were all young a year ago and return many key players.” — Richmond-Burton coach Patrick Elder.

Did you know? Genoa-Kingston moves to the BNC East from the BNC West this year, replacing Hampshire, which left for the Fox Valley Conference.

Predicted finish: Richmond-Burton, Harvard, Burlington Central, Genoa-Kingston, Marengo, North Boone
