Kendall Johnson ran in a touchdown from 1 yard out in the third overtime to give host Wirt a 24-18 victory over Lew Wallace Friday night.
Johnson's score was the only one of the three overtime sessions. The Troopers quarterback passed for two touchdowns to Kane San Miguel and ran for another in regulation -- the latter tying the score (Wirt was unable to take the lead on a two-point conversion run).
Lew Wallace's Andrew Boddie ran for two touchdowns, with the second one giving the Hornets a 12-6 lead.
After Johnson's second TD pass tied it, Wallace responded with a 54-yard TD run by Darrell Purdimon, setting up Johnson's late-game heroics.
