Saturno, Baron pace Parker past Gators

Guerin's senior night didn't go to plan as Parker came in and spoiled the party with a 71-58 win in River Grove Tuesday night.
Three-pointers were raining all over the Holy Cross Gym as Parker's Andrew Saturno and Judd Baron sank them early and Guerin's O'Shay Reed drained them late in a frantic comeback attempt.
Reed led all scorers with 20 points, scoring 18 of those points on six three-pointers in the fourth quarter before fouling out in the final minute of play.
Saturno and Baron each contributed 15 points in the victory for Parker (16-5) with all of Saturno's points coming from outside the three-point arc. Baron made four long-range shots in the game.
"We've only twice practiced in the past three weeks with finals and then the snow," said Parker coach John Bongiorno. "It showed because we were not on the top of our game. Guerin plays really hard, and we played kind of stupid at times. Giving up (58) points is not what we normally do. We've been holding teams in the 40s most of the year."
One top player from each team got into early foul trouble due to an inordinate number of offensive fouls, and that didn't allow the teams to play quite as they liked.
Guerin's Juan Matos committed his fourth foul with three minutes to go in the third quarter but managed to contribute 14 points for the Gators (3-18).
Parker point guard Langdon Neal was in a similar situation, playing most of the second half with four fouls, and scored 12 for the Colonels.
