Running back Connor Greenwald and quarterback Stephen Covalt each scored a

pair of touchdowns for Prairie Ridge (9-1) in a 35-26 win over Fenwick (5-5)

in a Class 6A game on Saturday in Crystal Lake.

Greeenwald (20 carries, 131 yards) had touchdown runs of four and 22 yards in

the first half as the Wolves built a 21-19 lead at halftime. Joe Campbell

returned a kickoff 70 yards for the other TD.

Covalt (14 carries, 74 yards) had the two touchdowns for Prairie Ridge in

the second half on runs of 41 and one yards.

The Wolves had 276 yards on the ground on 45 carries.

"We kept it basic on offense," Prairie Ridge coach Chris Schremp said. "It's

hard to stop the triple option when you haven't see it. It's hard to

simulate in practice."

Fenwick senior receiver Quinn Murphy had a career high 216 yards on seven

catches. He had touchdown receptions of 69 and 50 yards.

Quarterback Pat Hart scored on runs of one and five yards for Fenwick.

"That team had given up only 43 points all season and we scored 26, and

should have had more," Fenwick coach Joe DiCanio said. "They're awfully good

with the option. That has given us trouble before."
