Another year, another win for the New Trier football program in what has become a one-sided rivalry with Evanston.

Behind the one-two punch of Stuart Brown (12-for-18, 185 yards, three TDs) and Chris Harris (five receptions, 90 yards, two TDs), the Trevians (4-2) cruised to a 45-6 home win Friday night in Northfield.

The victory was New Trier’s 14th in the last 16 meetings with the Wildkits (1-5), which have been outscored 94-6 in the last two meetings.

“We feel like we are getting better every week,” Harris said. “We were able to jump out to a big lead and soak it in tonight. This was my last chance to play them, and it feels great to go out this way.”

In the 99th meeting between the two programs, New Trier blew the game open with three consecutive touchdowns midway through the first half. A 13-yard touchdown pass from Brown to Harris with 30 seconds to play in the opening half gave New Trier a commanding 35-6 cushion at the break.

“New Trier took what was there, and they exploited us in the passing game,” Evanston coach Mike Burzawa said. “We made some poor decisions. We have to be tougher mentally.”
