In the daytime or under the lights, it just doesn’t matter. Driscoll’s Steve Schwabe completed 12 of 16 passes for 293 yards and five touchdowns in the first half as the Highlanders beat Morris 42-0 in the first regular-season game under the lights at Robert A. Barth Field.
Driscoll (2-0) scored on its first four possessions as Schwabe connected with Austin Baker on touchdown passes of 11 and 35 yards and then found Clay Cooper for touchdowns of 55 and 27 yards. The Morris (0-2) defense turned Driscoll away on the Highlanders’ fifth possession, stopping Nick Campanella on fourth-and-goal from the 1-yard line.
But five minutes later Campanella got even, hauling in a short pass from Schwabe and turning it into a 62-yard touchdown to extend the lead to 35-0.
Schwabe finished the game with 301 yards passing, completing 13 of 17 attempts.
Driscoll scored on its first possession of the second half on a one-yard run by Cooper to account for the final score.
