Deerfield earned a spot in the title game with a 4-1 win over Carmel in Wednesday’s 3A Libertyville Sectional semifinal. The Warriors (19-3-1) scored six minutes into the game on a goal from Hooman Shams. Scottie Lakin made it 2-0 late in the first half.
The Corsairs (12-12-3) cut the lead in half before halftime when Drew Wycoff put in a rebound, but Deerfield answered with a goal from Brian Frankel and a second one from Shams.
Waukegan, which beat Deerfield twice this season, edged Palatine 2-1 in overtime to reach the title game.
