Gators bite too much for Grayslake Central

Crystal Lake South's front line on offense and defense kept Grayslake Central from mounting any attack to soundly defeat the Rams 34-3 in the Fox Valley Conference crossover game Friday night at Grayslake Central.
The Gators (3-0) defensive line spent most of the night in the Rams backfield; sacking two quarterbacks four times and holding the Rams running back to 75 yards rushing for the game including 25 in the second half.
"The offensive line always gives me lots of time," said Gator quarterback Drew Ormseth (5-for-13 for 63 yards and one touchdown). "There were a few passes I'd like to have back. But the blocking was great, you couldn't ask for more. Our guys are huge."
The Rams (2-1) scored first on a 33-yard field goal by Jon Gurchak, but that was all the Rams could do.
The No. 12 Gators took over on a two-yard TD run by Bolek Mikulec (11 carries for 38 yards) and a 42-yard field goal by Brad Walovitch to end the half with a 10-3 lead.
It was all Gators football in the second half. Walovitch booted his second field goal from 27 yards out and Kenny Bambini caught a 10-yard pass from Ormseth to make the score 20-3.
Kenny King (four carries for 82 yards) intercepted a Ray Beckman pass at the Rams 23-yard line and finished the drive with 59-yard run to put the game out of reach at 27-3. John Sullivan ran for 23 yards for a touchdown to close out the game.
Joel Valdavia had 85 yards on 15 carries for the Rams.
