Morgan Park rolls by Clark

After clinching the Prairie State championship against rival Hubbard last week, Morgan Park did not come out with the same intensity against Clark in the opening round of the Public League playoffs, but the Mustangs still dominated with a 42-0 victory Friday evening at Stagg Stadium.
Quarterback Dae' Shuan Hurley led the way as he accounted for 368 total yards and 15-for-18, 268 yards on passing, six rushes for 102 yards rushing and two touchdowns.
Hurley opened up the game with a 22-yard touchdown pass to Desmond Earles, then scored from three-yards out, and tossed an 18-yard touchdown pass to Javon Bright. He also scrambled for a 44-yard touchdown.
Brandon Peppers' four-yard touchdown run finished the scoring for the Mustangs.
Morgan Park coach Lexie Spurlock said his team was not sharp. "We just came off our biggest game, but that should be no excuse. This was a very lack luster performance. But it's a win and we will have to cut down on our mistakes."
