Junior David Lutz won’t soon forget his first field goal — and neither will the Red Devils’ fans. Lutz’s dramatic 25-yard field goal with 17.8 seconds remaining lifted the Red Devils to a 17-14 victory at Brother Rice in the Class 8A state quarterfinals in Chicago. Hinsdale Central (10-2), the No. 9 seed in the lower bracket, will play host to No. 6 Mt. Carmel (10-2) in the state semifinals Friday, Nov. 21, or Saturday, Nov. 22.
