Aaron Bailey displayed a little bit of versatility Friday night as No. 19

Bolingbrook hosted Joliet West in a Southwest Suburban Blue contest.

The junior quarterback used his arm for two touchdowns and his legs for

three more as the Raiders defeated the Tigers 49-12.

Bailey put Bolingbrook up 14-0 with 4:28 left in the second quarter on a

28-yard TD run. Faced with a fourth down, he found Omar Stover open in the

end zone for 33-yard TD catch with nine seconds left before half-time to

give the Raiders a 21-0 lead. The previous week Bolingbrook (4-0, 2-0)

scored all 60 of their points in a 60-6 victory over Joliet Central in the

first half.

In the third quarter Bailey connected with Chandler Piekarski on a 25-yard

TD pass to put Bolingbrook up 27-0.

Joliet West (0-4, 0-2) scored on a 3-yard TD run by Korey Rogers with 4:04

left in the third quarter. Bailey countered with TD runs of 1 and 5 yards on

the Raiders’ next two possessions.

Rogers added a 38-yard TD run in the fourth quarter for the Tigers.

Bailey rushed for 85 yards on 12 carries. He completed four of his 10 passes

for 74 yards.

The competition gets tougher the next two weeks for Bolingbrook as they face

Homewood-Flossmoor and Lincoln-Way East.
