Chanise Jenkins was electric on both sides of the ball.

The DePaul-bound Young senior guard scored 22 points including five three-pointers and recorded a stunning 10 steals as the No. 2 Dolphins used a 19-2 third-quarter blitz to knock out No. 10 Trinity 60-45 in the marquee game of the Young Shootout Saturday afternoon.

Jenkins drilled three three-pointers in the opening 10 minutes to propel the Dolphins (6-1) to a 28-13 lead. "They came out in a triangle and two, and we did a good job of getting the ball inside, which in turn opened up the floor for the shooters," Jenkins said.

Behind junior star Megan Podkowa (19 points, 11 rebounds, three blocks), Trinity responded with its own 10-0 burst. Up 30-23 at the break, Young forced a stunning 15 third quarter turnovers in its 19-2 run.

Sophomore forward Linnae Harper scored the opening nine points of the third quarter. She scored 15 of her 16 points in the second half. She added 10 rebounds. "I was frustrated that I wasn't getting as many rebounds or my shots to fall, so I came out focused and ready in the third quarter," Harper said.

Senior guard Kiana Johnson added nine points for the Dolphins. Alyssa Dangler contributed seven points for the Blazers (9-2).

In earlier games, No. 8 Morgan Park shook off a horrendous shooting start to outlast Penn, the No. 5 rated team in Indiana, 51-36. The Mustangs managed just five first-half field goals and fell behind as many as eight.

Junior guard Kendyl Nunn and senior guard Raven Nelson sparked the comeback. Nunn scored nine of her game-high 15 points in the second half. With Morgan Park down 21-16 to start the third quarter, Nelson banked in a three-pointer, igniting a 12-2 run.

"I told everybody at halftime even though our shots weren't going in to keep shooting and eventually they'd start to fall," Nelson said. She powered the Mustangs to a 19-7 scoring differential in the third quarter. Junior guard Debra Jenkins added 11 points. Junior Alex Morton scored 11 points for Penn (8-1).

Sophomore Bre Croft scored 14 points and senior guard Iesha Collins added 12 to lead Bogan over Champaign Central 51-43. Collins scored eight in the first half to stake the Bengals (3-5) to a 28-23 lead at the break. Croft scored 10 points in the second half that enabled Bogan to maintain its advantage. Jakeenya Evans scored 14 points for the Chargers (7-6).
