Bartlett allowed just 97 yards through three quarters and controlled the ball for 35 minutes en route to shutting out host Oswego 17-0 on Friday.
The visiting Hawks (2-0) were in control after quarterback Josh Hasenberg scored on a two-yard run with 8:11 left in the second quarter.
After managing just one first down in the first half, Oswego (1-1) came out throwing to start the second half. But a deep pass by Nick Welch was intercepted by David Palma at the Bartlett 11, and the Panthers never threatened after that.
‘‘They’re a power team,’’ Palma said. “We couldn’t have done it without our line doing work. They let our linebackers make a lot of tackles, and we played disciplined football for the most part.”
Bartlett’s Fabian Libreri rushed 27 times for 158 yards, including a 27-yard touchdown run, with 1:37 left in the game.
Corleon Richardson added 91 yards on 10 carries, and Dan Karys kicked a 25-yard field goal.
