Argo standout running back Bobby Pettis was voted the top individual star of Week 9 by YourSeason.com readers.
Pettis was nearly unstoppable in a 36-32 win over Richards in Week 9. The 5-7, 170-pound Pettis carried the ball 32 times for 287 yards and three touchdowns in the victory. Through three quarters against the Bulldogs, Pettis had 215 yards on the ground.
Pettis' touchdowns came on two three-yard runs and a 65-yard scamper. He also ran in two two-point conversions.
Pettis' performance helped Argo -- which finished the season with a 4-5 record -- end Richards' impressive streak of 23 straight playoff appearances.
Pettis, one of the most productive runners in the area, finished the year with 1,565 yards rushing and 16 touchdowns on 214 carries. He averaged more than 170 yards a game and more than seven yards a carry. His longest run was 85 yards. Later in the year, Pettis, who has a scholarship offer from Army, emerged as a force on defense as a linebacker.
As a junior, Pettis, who is often described as a "homerun threat," topped 1,500 yards and rushed for 16 touchdowns.
