Glenbard West defense: The Hilltoppers shut down Hinsdale Central and standout quarterback John Whitelaw in a 9-0 win Friday to take the West Suburban Silver title. The Red Devils had not been held to less than 27 points before the loss.
Josh Hodur, RB, St. Laurence: 203 rushing yards, four TDs in a 34-12 win over Leo on Friday that clinched a playoff berth for the Vikings.
Matt Manade, QB, Naperville North: Had a 26-yard TD run with 6:39 to play to help lift the Huskies to a 7-6 win over WW South on Friday.
Andrew Nerup, QB, Carmel: Two TD passes, two TD runs in a 35-3 win over Nazareth on Saturday.
Bobby Pettis, RB, Argo: 29 carries, 215 yards through three quarters, two three-yard TD runs, a 65-yard TD run and two two-point conversions in a 36-32 win over Richards Friday that ended the Bulldogs' streak of 23 straight playoff appearances.
Michael Ratay, RB, Geneva: 18 carries, 352 yards, six TDs (a career-best) in 47-14 win over Batavia on Friday.
Jordan Roberts, QB, Aurora Christian: Broke the state record for career passing yardage in a 34-19 win over Wheaton Academy on Friday. With 176 yards passing, Roberts now has 8,383 career passing yards, overcoming the previous record of 8,308 career yards set by Will Lunt of Rochester.
Brendan Shannon, DB, Montini: Intercepted a pass in the fourth quarter to seal a 14-13 win over rival Driscoll, a perfect season and a Suburban Catholic title.
Adam Tondini, DB/RB, Morris: 29 carries, 108 yards, TD, key fourth-quarter interception in a 21-13 win over Plainfield North that sent Morris to the playoffs.
Martinez Young, RB, Robeson: 220 yards rushing, four TDs in 70-30 win over Hyde Park.
