There were a couple of speed bumps to get over, as the Andrean 59ers started the season 2-2 and Adam Norton didn't make his 2009 debut on the mound until the ninth game of the spring. But once he did, the Notre Dame recruit put up another monster set of numbers in leading Andrean to its second state championship. For all he did on the mound -- 9-0, 1.45 ERA, 53 strikeouts and five walks in 53 innings -- and at the plate -- .550, 60 hits, 45 runs, 55 RBI, 30 doubles, five home runs -- Norton is the Post-Tribune's Baseball Player of the Year.
