Johnathan McClellan rushed for 236 yards on 29 carries and three touchdowns of 16, 21 and three yards as Hubbard overcame a rough start to defeat Amundsen 24-14 Friday afternoon at Winnemac Stadium.

"We came to the stadium not focused and everything,'' McClellan said. "We had a strong talk with our coach at half and we came out real strong in the second half and came out with a win.''

McClellan did most of his damage, including all three touchdowns, as the No.23 Greyhounds overcame a 6-0 deficit at the half.

McClellan's 21-yard score at 11:54 of the fourth quarter gave Hubbard (6-0, 3-0 Prairie State) a lead they would not relinquish.

Hubbard got on the board 18 seconds into the second half, as McClellan rushed 16 yards for his first touchdown on the first play of the third quarter.

Amundsen (1-5, 1-2) scored its first touchdown with five minutes left in the second quarter as Patrick McCoy hit Brandon Nelson for a 30-yard touchdown pass. The touchdown was set up by a roughing the kicker penalty that extended an Amundsen drive that had netted a total of two yards.

McCoy's second touchdown came on a nine-yard pass to Desroy Maxwell with 17 seconds left in the third quarter. McCoy finished 5-of-19 and had 120 passing yards.
