Six outs away from upsetting St. Rita, the defense that helped catapult Waubonsie Valley to the IHSBCA final four for a second consecutive summer deserted them. Leading 5-3 entering the bottom of the sixth inning, the Warriors' first two errors of the tournament proved to be costly as St. Rita scored three times.

Waubonsie catcher Eric Josupait's diving catch to tag out an Oak Park-River Forest runner in the bottom of the sixth seemed to be the spark the Warriors needed on Tuesday. Waubonsie proceeded to score five runs in the top of the seventh to break the game open, en route to a 7-1 victory over the Huskies.

Prep baseball: Jon Cisna couldn't do anything with the first two fastballs he saw in his second-inning at-bat. He turned the third one around. Cisna, a left-handed hitter, drilled a two-out, two-strike pitch into the right field corner for a two-run double. His blast was the highlight of a four-run outburst that propelled the Lockport High School baseball team to a 4-2 victory over Waubonsie Valley in the championship game of the 4A Plainfield South Regional on Saturday.
