Elmwood Park wins first sectional

Kristin Jakobsen scattered seven hits and was backed up by solid defense and clutch hitting as Elmwood Park won its first sectional title in any girls sport by beating host Trinity 8-3 Saturday in the Class 3A Trinity Sectional.

The Trinity softball team had no problem with moving the start of the title game until 5:30 on Saturday afternoon. The Blazers overcame a slow start, but still took care of business with a 10-0 win in six innings over Prosser in the title game of the Trinity Class 3A Regional.
