Sandburg's shocking 2-1 loss to Marist in Saturday's Class 4A Marist Regional title game didn't, in Eagles coach Jim Fabianski's mind, erase a 31-victory effort that made this year's squad the fifth consecutive to reach the 30-win plateau. Sandburg softball teams have won at least 30 games in eight of the last nine seasons.

Hard-headed Freeman holds on for Marist

Sandburg 10, Eisenhower 0: Nikki Abramovske belted a two-run homer as Sandburg (30-5) earned a berth in the Class 4A Marist Regional championship. Lexi Bryant, who added a solo shot for the Eagles, went 2-for-2 with two runs and two RBI.
