Tournament ends on a high note for Panthers

The Oswego and Waubonsie Valley soccer teams were greeted by a crisp, cool morning Saturday, but once the second half got started, the two teams provided plenty of heat offensively. The squads combined for five goals in the second 40 minutes of play, with Oswego scoring three times to close out the Waubonsie Valley Invitational with a 4-2 win.

East wins Oswego bragging rights

Oswego East's 4-1 win over crosstown rival Oswego on Tuesday was worth not just local bragging rights, but also kept the Wolves unbeaten in Southwest Prairie action.

Title defense begins on wrong foot

Last season, Oswego's boys soccer team lost only to crosstown rival Oswego East en route to tying Plainfield Central for the Southwest Prairie Conference title. The defense of that title did not get off to a good start for the Panthers Monday. Oswego opened their SPC slate with a 3-1 home loss to Plainfield North, falling behind 3-0 before mounting a late charge in the final 20 minutes. It is the first time Plainfield North has beaten the Panthers in the short history of its school.

Batavia pulls away from Oswego
