Lyons Township senior Sam Thimmig looked forward to the 2009 season for a long time. So, even though the Lions were beaten by rival Hinsdale Central 23-25, 25-15, 25-19 in the Hinsdale Central Regional final May 27, he's not going to let it ruin the experience.

Lions get past Addison Trail

Lyons d. Addison Trail 24-26, 26-24, 25-22: The Lions improved to 11-16 behind nine kills from Mike Bartman and eight kills from Sam Thimmig. Dan Lalonde added four kills and four blocks, while Matt Corte contributed 26 assists for Lyons.
